House design jobs near me5/2/2024 I like motorcycling and I enjoy a bustling office, despite how draining it is (I'm pretty introverted), so I like going in. Hence, I undoubtedly achieve higher productivity at home than I would in someone else's workspace. I know my equipment is reliable, up-to-date, well-maintained, and perfectly aligned with my workflow. Working from home provides me with higher income, benefits, and greater flexibility. ![]() Don't misunderstand me if a job offered substantially more pay than what I make from my current clients, I'd accept it without hesitation. I'm interested in hearing others' opinions on this matter and whether they share my perspective. The only explanation I can think of is that they need to justify the expense of office space lol So, I wonder, what do these employers expect me to do for eight hours daily in their office? Am I supposed to finish a task and then idly stare at a blank screen until the next one arrives? It simply doesn't make sense to me. Design demand isn't consistently high, and I'm efficient in my work. Over the past three years, I've consistently had at least a handful of projects on my plate, yet I can't claim to work nonstop through a traditional 8-hour workday. Moreover, despite juggling multiple significant projects, I still manage to find time between and after their completion to attend to household chores, prepare meals, walk my dog, etc. I opt out of jobs that mandate office presence because it would compromise the time and focus I allocate to my existing clients' projects. While perhaps understandable a couple of decades ago, in today's age where most designers have their own tools, software access, and home offices, this requirement seems outdated. It's somewhat perplexing to see many positions still requiring graphic designers to work from an office. I find myself most productive when using my own equipment, within my personal space, and on my own schedule.Ĭonstantly seeking additional work, I frequently browse online job boards. I work exclusively from home as a graphic designer, managing about 5-6 clients or projects simultaneously. ![]() Join our Discord server Design Subreddits LIST ![]() Please report any posts which break these rules, to maintain the quality of the subreddit.
